Does ChatGPT mention your brand?

Enter your brand and what you sell. We run one real, search-grounded ChatGPT query — the kind your buyers ask every day — and show you whether you’re in the answer, who is, and which sources it cites. Free, no signup to run it.

The question we ask ChatGPT

A fresh check runs one real, search-grounded ChatGPT query and can take up to a minute. Recently-asked questions return instantly from cache.

Methodology

One real answer, measured honestly

No black box: here is exactly what runs when you hit the button, and exactly what the result does — and doesn’t — tell you.

01

One real API run

Every fresh check sends your chosen question to ChatGPT through the API with web search enabled — a live, search-grounded answer, not a database lookup or a screenshot of someone else’s result.

02

A consumer approximation

We use gpt-5-mini with web search forced — a close approximation of what consumer ChatGPT does when it searches before answering. Your question goes in verbatim, with no system prompt steering the result.

03

Parsed like the product

Mentions are detected with word-boundary matching across spelling variants, and citations come from the response’s structured sources — the same pipeline OptimizeCamp runs on every tracked prompt.

04

A snapshot, not a trend

AI answers vary run to run. One query tells you what ChatGPT said today, to one phrasing. Knowing whether you’re winning takes a portfolio of prompts measured weekly — that part is the product.

Why it matters

The answer is the new page one

AI assistants don’t send traffic to ten results — they name a few brands and settle the question. Being one of them is now a measurable marketing channel.

Your buyers ask AI first

Questions that used to be ten blue links are now a single answer. When someone asks ChatGPT which provider to choose, the recommendation happens right there — no click, no page two, no chance to make your case later.

Answers name winners

An AI answer doesn’t list a hundred results. It names a handful of brands and moves on — and the brands it names become the shortlist. If you’re not in the answer, a competitor is the default choice.

Citations are the lever

The sources an assistant cites are where it learned the category. Being present on those sources — or being cited yourself — is how you change next month’s answer. That’s measurable, fixable work.

FAQ

About this checker

Is this real ChatGPT?

It’s a real, search-grounded run through the ChatGPT API — we use gpt-5-mini with web search forced, the closest stable approximation of what the consumer app does when it searches before answering. It isn’t a scrape of the app itself, so exact wording can differ; the behavior is very close.

Why is my result cached?

Someone — possibly you — asked this exact question within the last 14 days. Every fresh run costs real money, and answers to the same phrasing rarely change day to day, so we serve the stored answer instantly instead. Cached results are free and never count against your daily limit.

How do I get mentioned more?

Be present where AI looks: the sources cited for your category are where the answer gets formed, and the content gaps on your own site are why you’re easy to leave out. Finding those gaps, fixing the pages, and verifying the mentions actually moved is the loop OptimizeCamp automates.

Does this cover Google AI Overviews?

This free check is ChatGPT only. The product tracks both ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews on a schedule, side by side, for every prompt you follow — see the AI Visibility Tracker.
