1. Who we are
OptimizeCamp is operated by DotCamp LLC (“OptimizeCamp”, “we”, “us”), based in New York, United States. We are the controller of the personal data described below. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@optimizecamp.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & workspace data — your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and organization or workspace details.
- Billing data — plan, billing contact, and payment status. Purchases are processed by Freemius, our merchant of record; your payment card details are collected and stored by Freemius, never by us.
- Content you connect — the website URL(s) you ask us to analyze, your Brand Profile, tracked prompts, competitors, and any content you import by URL, paste into the editor, or sync from WordPress.
- Support & correspondence — messages you send us.
Information we generate or collect automatically
- Measurement data — the AI answers we retrieve on your behalf, the brand and competitor detections within them, audits, drafts, and the metrics computed from all of the above.
- Usage & device data — product events, log data, IP address, browser and device information, used to operate, secure, and improve the service.

3. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the service — crawl your site, run your prompts across AI platforms, audit pages, and generate drafts.
- Process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud.
- Send service communications, alerts (by email and, on eligible plans, Slack), and respond to support requests.
- With your consent, send occasional marketing emails about AI visibility — unsubscribe anytime.
- Secure the service, debug problems, and enforce our terms.
- Improve OptimizeCamp, subject to the controls described below.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. AI processing and third-party models
To measure your visibility and generate content, we send prompts and relevant content to third-party AI providers through an AI gateway. Your content and the answers we retrieve are not used to train third-party AI models, and we do not use them to train or improve OptimizeCamp’s own models without your consent.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service; your consent (for example, non-essential cookies), which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Sub-processors that power the service — cloud hosting and database infrastructure, our merchant of record (Freemius, which processes checkout and billing), AI model providers accessed via our gateway, and email/notification delivery providers — each under contractual data-protection obligations.
- Integrations you enable — for example, your WordPress site, which we access only with the credentials you provide and only to sync and publish content at your direction.
- Legal and safety — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
7. Data retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. Consistent with the product, historical answers and metrics are retained so your trends stay intact; your plan sets how far back you can browse, not what we keep. When you close your account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations.
8. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and least-privilege practices. Sensitive integration credentials (such as WordPress application passwords) are stored encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents where required by law.
9. International transfers
We operate in the United States, and your data may be processed there and in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, contact privacy@optimizecamp.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
11. Children
OptimizeCamp is a business product not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new “last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
