Compare · Profound
Profound went wide. We close the loop.
Profound is the enterprise heavyweight of AI search — more engines, prompt-volume data, and since late 2025 content-drafting Agents of its own. What it still doesn’t close: auditing the exact pages that lost you citations, fixing them in place, and proving the change moved the answers. That loop is the whole of OptimizeCamp.
Credit where due
Where Profound genuinely wins
A comparison page that pretends the other tool has no strengths isn’t worth your time. Profound has four real ones.
Engine coverage
Profound advertises up to 10 answer engines on Enterprise, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek and Claude. OptimizeCamp tracks 2. If you need breadth today, Profound has it.
Prompt-volume data
Conversation Explorer surfaces what real users actually ask AI assistants, with volume data. OptimizeCamp works from the prompts you define; it has no equivalent of this dataset.
Agent traffic analytics
Profound analyzes AI agent and crawler traffic hitting your site — a genuinely useful lens OptimizeCamp doesn’t offer.
Enterprise procurement
SOC 2, SSO/SAML, API access and dedicated Slack support with a 24-hour SLA on the Enterprise tier. If your security team runs the buying process, that list matters.
The structural difference
Wide platform vs closed loop
Since its December 2025 Workflows launch, Profound’s Agents draft content and publish to CMSs — the old ‘trackers track’ line no longer covers it. What it hasn’t built is the audit-fix-prove chain around your existing pages. Here’s the same finding — ‘ChatGPT stopped citing your pricing guide’ — followed through both tools.
A workflow with Profound
- 01Profound flags the drop across its dashboards — clearly, and probably earlier than you’d have noticed alone.
- 02An Agent can draft fresh content from the finding — spending agent credits — in the Documents editor.
- 03Diagnosing why the existing page lost its citation is still yours: there’s no audit that scores the page against the answers that dropped it.
- 04Publishing goes out through its CMS integrations, WordPress included.
- 05Whether the fix took, you judge by re-reading the dashboards — there’s no per-change receipt.
Real motion since the Workflows launch — but the diagnosis at the start and the proof at the end are still yours to assemble. The loop is open on both ends.
The same week in OptimizeCamp
- 01The tracker flags the lost citation and the alert names the prompt and the page.
- 02An audit scores that page against the answers that stopped citing it.
- 03You accept the suggested fixes in the editor — click, click, done.
- 04The page publishes back to WordPress from the same screen.
- 05The next scheduled runs re-measure, and an Impact Card shows whether the citation came back.
One tool, one thread, and a receipt at the end. That’s the loop Profound leaves open.

The honest table
Both columns win rows. If the rows Profound wins are the ones your team needs, that’s your answer — and this page just saved you a demo call.

The bundle math
$399 buys the platform. $199 closes the loop.
Profound Growth and OptimizeCamp Pro track the same 100 prompts. The difference is what surrounds them — and what you can prove afterward.
Profound Growth · $399/mo billed yearly
- 100 prompts across 3 engines, 9,000 responses/mo
- 3 seats, 400 agent credits for content drafts
- Monitoring, insights, reporting and Agent workflows
- Page audits against your tracked answers, and per-change proof: not in the product
OptimizeCamp Pro · $199/mo
- 100 pooled prompts across 3 projects
- Daily Google AI runs, ChatGPT 3×/week, 10 on-demand runs/mo
- 50 content audits with click-to-accept fixes
- 10 fact-checked generated articles, published to WordPress as drafts
- Slack alerts, CSV + PDF reports, Impact Cards
The WordPress publish-back isn’t a checkbox integration, either. OptimizeCamp is built by DotCamp — nine WordPress plugins, 115K+ active installs since 2017 — so the publishing half of the loop is the half we’ve been shipping the longest.
Also in the box
The tracker half is all here
Choosing the loop doesn’t mean settling for a thin tracker. The measurement features you’d shortlist Profound for are in every OptimizeCamp plan.
Sentiment analysis
Every mention scored positive, neutral or negative — computed on identical rules for you and each tracked competitor.
Competitor share of voice
Your slice of every brand mention across the answers, with a citation-only cut alongside it — 3 competitors on Starter, 5 on Pro, 10 on Agency.
Citation tracking
Which of your pages the answers actually link, per prompt and per platform — and an alert when one drops out.
Alerts, Slack included
Six alert types — visibility drops, lost prompts, lost citations, new competitors, competitor overtakes, and wins. In-app on every plan, email for critical alerts, Slack delivery on Pro and up.
CSV + PDF export
CSV export on every plan, PDF reports on Pro and up.
White-label + client links
White-label PDF reports and read-only client share links on Agency.
FAQ
Questions worth asking
Is OptimizeCamp a direct Profound alternative?
For tracking, yes: both run prompts against AI platforms and report mentions, citations, sentiment and competitor share of voice. And since its December 2025 Workflows launch, Profound also drafts content through Agents and publishes to CMSs — so the overlap is wider than it used to be. The difference is the shape of the work. Profound’s Agents write new content from templates and its analytics go deeper and wider. OptimizeCamp audits the pages already costing you citations, applies click-to-accept fixes in place, generates articles only where a measured gap exists, and re-measures every published change with an Impact Card.
Profound advertises up to 10 engines and OptimizeCamp tracks 2. Why would anyone switch?
If you need Perplexity, Gemini or Grok coverage today, or SOC 2 and SSO for procurement, Profound Enterprise is the better fit — no argument. But note where those engines live: on the custom-priced Enterprise tier. Profound's self-serve Starter tracks exactly one engine, ChatGPT, for $99/mo billed yearly. OptimizeCamp covers ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews — the two largest AI answer surfaces — on every plan, and spends the rest of your money on acting on the data rather than collecting more of it.
How does Profound's pricing compare to OptimizeCamp's?
Profound's published pricing as of July 2026: Starter $99/mo billed yearly (50 prompts, ChatGPT only, 100 agent credits), Growth $399/mo billed yearly (100 prompts, 3 engines, 400 agent credits), Enterprise custom — reportedly $2,000+/mo in practice. Note what self-serve leaves out: exports and Opportunities start at Growth, while Shopping, API access and the other six engines are Enterprise-only. OptimizeCamp: Starter $79/mo (25 prompts), Pro $199/mo (100 pooled prompts), Agency $499/mo (300 prompts) — and every plan includes the audit editor, fact-checked article generation, WordPress publish-back and Impact Cards, metered by plan allowances instead of a credit pool.
Does Profound help me fix pages or write content?
On writing, yes — since late 2025. Agent workflows (Research-to-Article, Content Refresh and similar) draft content with human approval, the Documents editor covers co-writing, and CMS integrations — WordPress included — handle publishing. What its published feature set still lacks is page-level repair tied to the tracking: no audit that scores an existing page against the answers that stopped citing it, no click-to-accept fix queue, and no per-change Impact Card. Profound can write you more content; OptimizeCamp is built to fix what you already have and prove the fix worked.
Could I run both?
Some enterprise teams will: Profound for wide-engine monitoring and executive reporting, OptimizeCamp for the fix-and-create loop on their own site. For most teams, though, paying twice for prompt tracking is redundant — OptimizeCamp Pro at $199/mo tracks the same 100 prompts as Profound Growth at $399/mo and includes the workflow the tracking is supposed to feed.
